Apple, which was accused by the Italian government of failing to declare more than $1.3B of income when paying corporation tax in the country, has now agreed to pay the full €318M ($347M) claimed by the Italian tax office. The company has 16 Apple Stores in Italy. The New Mutants are finally coming to theaters after years of delays, and star Anya Taylor-Joy claims the movie’s tone is “unlike any” she’s seen on film. It’s a promising tease for a movie that’s seen no less than three separate release dates since its first trailer premiered all the way back in October of 2017. Having survived multiple delays and a major studio merger, the latest installment in the X-Men franchise is now slated for an April 3rd theatrical release....

Along with a slew of other updates today, Apple has just released version 3.5 of Aperture, with notable support for iCloud photo sharing, multiple contributors to Photo Streams, and the ability to post videos to shared streams. The “Places” feature inside of Aperture has also switched to use Apple Maps, instead of relying on Google’s mapping data like it did previously. SmugMug integration has also been added, allowing those who use the service to publish and sync galleries of their photos....

Apex Legends announced earlier today that it would be adding a new rifle, named Havoc, to the popular battle royale game. The announcement was made on Twitter, and developer Respawn Entertainment has since released a trailer showcasing the new weapon in action, as the weapon went live a short while after the initial reveal was made. Apex Legends is growing faster than Fortnite, and looks to be a real contender in a genre that looked like it was going to be Epic Games’ playground for as long as that team wanted....

Apple today announced that its Apple Arcade video game subscription service is launching later this month, alongside iOS 13. Arcade games span Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Mac. Following today’s event Apple has introduced a ton of new Apple Watch bands in a wide variety of new colors and styles. The new Spring colors span across many of Apple’s current band styles, but there is also a completely new Hermès woven textile band. The Solo loop is now available in Tomales blue, Pistachio and Cantaloupe. They are still priced at $49 in a bunch of different sizes. BBC reported today that Apple was recently denied a trademark for “iPad mini” after authorities in the United States claimed the term was “merely descriptive.” Apple still has until July to convince the United States Patent and Trademark Office, but its official stance thus far according to a recently surfaced document is that iPad mini fails to “create a unique, incongruous, or non-descriptive meaning in relation to the goods being small handheld mobile devices comprising tablet computers capable of providing internet access....

Apple has just released an update to the Apple Events app for tvOS, which allows users to watch Apple presentations on Apple TV. Today’s update prepares the app for the live broadcast of the WWDC 2020 opening keynote next Monday. What’s different this year however, is that when you download the new version of the Apple Events app, it now shows a message that redirects you to the Apple TV app — where the event will be streamed....

After initially launching same-day delivery in partnership with Postmates earlier this year in San Francisco, Apple today has revealed that the capability is expanding to more locations. Users today have started noticing that same-day delivery from Apple’s online store and Apple Store app is now supported in New York. First noticed by MacRumors, same-day delivery via courier is now available in most of Manhattan, with it promising 2-hour delivery in 37 of 43 tested ZIP codes....

Ahead of their event on Tuesday, Apple announced a Teacher Tuesday event at its Michigan Avenue store in Chicago. The event will be held at 5PM local time on Tuesday, after the Apple event at 10AM. The invitation reads: Towkio was born in Chicago, Illinois and actually attended Lane Tech College Prep High School, where the Apple event is being held. In the past few hours we’ve seen some significant changes happening at the App Store on iPad which seem to coincide nicely with the launch event tomorrow. Apple Music has rebranded its A List: Hip-Hop playlist to Rap Life while adding a weekly show with the same name to Beats 1 Radio. The changes have been led by Apple’s global editorial head of hip-hop and R&B, Ebro Darden. Hot off the heels of Apple’s iBook Textbooks and iBooks Author announcement, the Cupertino, Calif.-based Company passed a $400 billion market cap briefly today, AllThingsD pointed out. Apple also saw a new company record of $431 a share this afternoon —up $2 from yesterday’s record. As the afternoon continued on, Apple’s market cap went down to $398 billion again, but it is still close to coming back.
